Alpheus Lights South Texas Fiber Network

Today Alpheus Communications announced plans to light its fiber network
assets in South Texas, providing transport and bandwidth services in
McAllen, Laredo and Harlingen in early 2011. The network will connect at
many of the popular interconnection points in the region to provide
access and local loop capabilities, as well as interconnection with
Mexican carriers for northbound IP transit and traditional
point-to-point bandwidth needs.
“We are excited to
offer these important new markets to our customers.”
Chip Robertson, Senior Vice President of Sales, said, We are excited to
offer these important new markets to our customers. Robertson added,
Alpheus already provides near ubiquitous coverage in the largest Texas
markets. These fast-growing cities are a natural extension of our
current geography and will allow Alpheus to meet the increasing
bandwidth requirements of our customers.
Francisco Maella, COO, said, This extension of our long haul network
with new metro rings will provide the same high levels of reliability
that customers have come to expect from Alpheus.
