Taiwantrade Cooperates with UPS
Taiwans largest trade-promotion organization, the Taiwan External Trade
Development Council (TAITRA), and UPS-Taiwan Branch announced their
monumental cooperation on August 31, 2010. Starting from September, UPS
will provide several privileged delivery services to domestic members of
TAITRA-operated business-to-business e-commerce website, Taiwantrade.
The launching of this cooperation completes the last mile of
Taiwantrades upgrading to become the national cross-industries e-market
platform.
TAITRA President & CEO Yuen-chuan Chao pointed out, As trade
liberalization and economic globalization continue to accelerate,
Taiwanese businesses have entered an era of group competitions and
cooperation which requires sharper external resource integration to take
on the next stage of business development. Besides providing trade
service and business intelligence, Taiwantrade in the past year has also
begun cooperating with Google, Dun & Bradstreet, eBay, PayPal, and now
UPS. The collaborations have resulted in thorough information, money,
and goods flows and thereby increased the capacity of Taiwans small and
medium enterprises to expand to the global market. In other words, they
get the greatest online marketing effect with the least cost.
The general manager of UPS-Taiwan Branch, William Ng, on the other hand
emphasized that UPS has branch offices in 200 areas of the world. The
companys experience in global delivery allows them to understand
clearly about the blind spots Taiwanese businesses face in the global
logistics/circulation management. According to UPSs observations, every
delivery process has decisive impact on customers satisfaction on the
business deal which even creates customers loyalty to a company. It is
obvious that logistics are truly important to businesses.
Chief of Secretariat of Taiwans Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) Wen-jo
Kiang also expressed that Taiwans import-export volume has grown
significantly in the past nine months. BOFT is anticipating even better
trade activities in the Asian region. Taiwantrades cooperation with UPS
this time is precisely a realization of the Taiwan governments
encouragement of free trade and paperless trade. It is hoped that
through the logistics integration of both sides, the foundation of
Taiwanese businesses global positioning can be further strengthened.
